Course Description
Railroad emergencies present some of the most complex and high-risk rescue operations faced by today’s emergency responders. Person Under the Train is an intensive training program from Junk Yard Dog Extrication Training that prepares firefighters, rescue personnel, and incident commanders to safely and effectively manage train-versus-pedestrian incidents.
This course examines railroad operations, train construction, scene size-up, hazard recognition, patient access, stabilization techniques, lifting and extrication considerations, and responder safety. Students will learn how to operate within the unique challenges of the railroad environment while minimizing risks to both rescuers and victims.
